July 18, 2018 - Towson, Maryland - The Maryland Major Soccer League is excited to announce Motorik FC as a new expansion club for the fall 2018 season.
Based in Alexandria, Virginia, Motorik will start play in the Maryland Majors 2nd Division starting in the fall. Motorik FC will be the first ever Virginia based club in the Maryland Majors. Maryland Majors Commissioner Bill George said, "in a short period of time Motorik FC have gained a significant following with more than 1,000 followers on Twitter and have put together a quality product on the field that has already competed against Maryland Majors, WPL, NPSL, and PDL clubs in a friendly schedule. We welcome them to the Maryland Majors as they look to take the next step as a club."
Owner Kenneth Tebo had this to say, "Since our club was created over a year ago, Motorik FC Alexandria has worked endlessly and tirelessly to build a solid organization and roster. We have harnessed this dedication and effort to successfully achieve our goal of representing Fairfax County with distinction at the elite amateur level. Today, we are proud to see our labor bear fruit with our acceptance as the first Virginia-based member of the Maryland Major Soccer League. Motorik FC Alexandria is grateful to Commissioner Bill George for allowing us this platform to continue building our club's community and culture and to showcase our players through competition against the finest talent in the region. Our main impetus for joining the Maryland Majors is our belief that a quality, ambitious club deserves a quality, ambitious league. We are excited to face the challenges that participating in the Maryland Majors will afford Motorik FC Alexandria, such as earning promotion to the 1st Division and entry into the Maryland Champions League. While working diligently to generate increased interest in our club, we will also commit ourselves to raising awareness of the league and building on the tradition of its legendary clubs, like Christos FC, to establish the Maryland Majors as the most prominent elite amateur league in Region I and all of U.S. soccer. Motorik FC Alexandria is humbled by the achievements of all current and former Maryland Majors clubs and is honored that we can now add to the league's history with this new chapter in our club's genesis. We would also like to thank the staff and players of Maryland Majors Clubs Columbia FC Maryland and Old Baltimore Footballers for joining us on the pitch during our exhibition season and preparing us for the massive test we will face weekly once the Fall season commences. And, to our beloved rabble that has supported and stood by us throughout our journey, we say "Allez Motorik!" For club and county…"
