Maryland Majors Announces Moncagua FC as Expansion Team

Towson, Maryland - The Maryland Major Soccer League is thrilled to announce Moncagua FC as a new member for the fall 2018 Maryland Major Soccer League season. The club will compete in the Maryland Majors 2nd Division Southern Conference where many matches will be played at MLK Regional Park in Montgomery County but also at club operated facilities including Moncagua FC's home pitch Walker Mill Regional Park in District Heights, MD.

Moncagua FC is an established club based in Prince George's County, Maryland that already has achieved many accomplishments and lifted many trophies. The club was founded in the early 2000's by Salvadorian Family in the area who loved the game. The club has competed and won championships various competitions including Liga Latina Americana, Liga Salvadorena, Copa Taca, Copa Avianca, and the Continental Soccer League.  

Moncagua FC is owned by Adilio and Juan Torres, the club's key sponsor is Leylas Restaurant, and the team is managed by Cesar Serrano. On joining the Maryland Majors, club manager Cesar said, "Moncagua FC is very excited to join the league! A successful team beats with one heart, Moncagua FC one family, one heart beat!" 

Maryland Major Soccer League Commissioner Bill George had this to say, "the Maryland Majors continues to grow around the state of Maryland with quality clubs. The Maryland Majors has more than 50 years of history of elite soccer and provides an affordable, well run competition that allows clubs to compete at the highest level and provide opportunities and exposure for their players.
