The Maryland Major Soccer League is pleased to announce Blue Side FC as an expansion team for the spring 2019 season. Blue Side FC is the reigning champions of the MSSA Mason-Dixon Soccer League where they went 7-1-0 (W-L-D) with 48 GF and 13 GA. They cruised to the league championship defeating Frederick City FC 4-1 in the final.

The Frederick County based team is also competing in the MSSA Rowland and Morton Cups where they have advanced to the semi-finals in both competitions and have earned impressive wins defeating Maryland Majors 2nd Division Champ Steel Pulse 1-0 and Washington Premier Side Aegean Hawks 3-1.

The club is managed by Colin Viti who had this to say upon joining the Maryland Majors, "Blue Side FC was created with joining the Maryland Majors always being a goal in mind. It was just a matter of when the right time would be. After a strong first year in the Mason Dixon League followed by some good performance in the MSSA Cup competitions, we felt like now was the right time to take the next step and see what we can do in the Maryland Majors"

League Director of Operations Nigel Fullerton said, "we are thrilled to have Blue Side FC. I saw them compete in the MSSA Cups and they are a very strong side." League Commissioner Bill George said, "the Maryland Majors is proud to welcome Blue Side FC. The Maryland Majors now includes the top team from Frederick County, Maryland to go along with our high caliber teams from Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Harford County, Howard County, Montgomery County, Prince George's County, and Fairfax County, VA! We wish Colin and the Blue Side FC club the best of luck in their remaining State Cup matches and look forward to having them compete in the Maryland Majors."
